Getting here

Not much to say about the trip over.
Long.
But, eventually, we arrived in Addis.

Then, two hours through customs and immigration. Our driver met us and we began a 7 hour journey South.

From car traffic to more interesting types.

Fantastic trees in this country, and one of my favorite is just outside Addis.

Like trees, there are other "categories" of things that grab my attention.

1. What can be carried on one's back.
2. Home construction.
3. Livestock on vehicle roofs.
4. How much a donkey can carry.
5. Erosion.
6. Children working.
7. Bad wrecks left on side of the road (often caused by drivers chewing a bit too much khat).
8. Farming.
9. Things that can cause a traffic tie up.
10. Items that can be sold on the side of the highway.

Any one of these categories can turn into individual posts, but since it's midnight and Nebeyou fell asleep at 7pm, I'm just going to throw up a few images from To Think that I Saw it on Mulberry Street and leave my ramblings for later. Many thanks to my daughter Sarah for having a 14 hour layover (at an airport that has it's own island in Japan) and Skyping me for hours while I sorted pictures. I asked her to guest blog, but we will see if she has time.

Turns out, the proper way to peel a banana is from the bottom, not top.

And here is me. Happy to finally be in Soddo.
